Carolina Dog

Andy

Andy
Although we don't currently have a picture up for Andy, he looks very much like Ariel, who can also be viewed on this site. He is cute, with his huge ears and his lighter-colored mask! Andy came to us from an out-of-state shelter via foster-care. He is a bit shy, about 7 to 12 months old, has been heart-worm tested (-) and is possibly house-trained, although he is kenneled at present, so we don't know for sure.

Sammy

Sammy
Sammy is a 4 year old, very shy, one-person dog. She would be excellent for a single-person household. She requires a lot of exercise and must have a fenced yard accessible from the door of her new home. She tends to be dominant with other dogs, but can get along with them. Sammy came to our shelter from a rescue in Dulce.

Shiloh

Shiloh
This fellow has lots of energy! With proper socialization, Shiloh has transformed from a shy boy to an engaging and loving dog . He is about 2 years old. Shiloh came as an owner-surrender and was raised on a nearby reservation. He has a vertebral injury that requires he be walked on harness, not collar. He is taller than most Carolina dogs, has a nice, athletic build and is looking for a loving companion with which to share life!

Annabella

Annabella
Annabella is a precious girl, who is high, (did I say extremely?) high-energy. She came to us from a Denver shelter via foster care. Annabella is 2 years old and will need some good direction and a dedicated "job." She loves people and is so happy to share affection. Annabella has the largest, unbelievably-expressive eyes. One look at them and you might find yourself with a new, life-long friend! Why not test out this theory?!

Ariel

Ariel
Sweet little Ariel was sent our way, a very pregnant girl whose time was up for finding a home at another shelter. She was picked up running loose and was, unfortunately, impregnated during her first heat cycle. She had her "one-time" healthy litter of seven shortly after arriving and performed her role as a mother extremely well, especially considering that, at the time, she was still under a year old herself. She is a very people-focused lady, good with dogs, very attentive, affectionate and eager to learn. Ariel's nutritional status has been a focus since her arrival, and this is reflecting itself in the quality of her coat and general form. This 1 year old is ready to start a new life of her own -- filled with comforts, ample vittles and LOTS of affection!

Lil

Lil
Lil was owner-surrendered and is reputed to be house-trained. She is very cute and good off-leash. She will have to go to just the right individual, however, since she is shy, timid and avoids being leashed. She is a fairly good on-leash walker after being caught, but is difficult to leash-up. She will need patience, more socialization, continued training focus and lots of love. Lil is 2 years of age.

Rhonda-Adoption Pending!!

Rhonda-Adoption Pending!!
Light ginger-colored and on the small side of medium, Rhonda is a very friendly little lady who is ready to steal someone's heart. She was signed over by owner prior to being seized (no other details are known) and was transferred to us from an out of state shelter after her time there had lapsed. She has received treatment for heartworm and seems full of energy and vitality. She is believed to be less than 2 years old and arrived here with Miles, who is probably her litter mate.

Trina

Trina
This really loveable, dark ginger-colored dog was an early-morning dump-off at Annie's Orphans in October. At the time, she appeared to have just weaned a litter of pups. It is difficult to determine which breed Trina is mixed with, but she is a large girl. She is very friendly and is hoping to make a life-long buddy soon.

Miles

Miles
An arrival from an out-of-state shelter, Miles is dark ginger-colored, very friendly, fully vaccinated and heartworm-checked. He arrived here with his probable litter-mate, Rhonda, after his time at the shelter had lapsed. Miles was owner-surrendered prior to being seized, and no other details are known. He looks to be less than 2 years old and is a happy boy just waiting to spread some of that around!

Sampson

Sampson
Sampson is a cute and wonderful boy who needs a little more confidence to overcome his shyness. He has, however, made lots of progress. He is great with other dogs and is always ready to play. Sampson is good on leash and is learning his commands well. He just needs a stable family to show him that not all people are mean and nasty. He is 3 years old. A fenced yard will be an absolute necessity. Email your inquiry and come see this active boy play!
