Sonny

Sonny
Sonny is a Feist, transferred from Tijuana. He came off the streets, but has been fostered; so, he is probably house-trained. This kid is just an, overall, good fellow: friendly/good-natured, good with children and with other dogs. He will be ready to go after we complete a heart-worm test and veterinary "once-over."

Micah

Micah
Micah is an Italian Greyhound / Chihuahua mix with endless enthusiasm and spunk. She is just as fond of other small dogs as she is of people. She is somewhat fearful of larger dogs and smaller kids, so that would need to be taken into consideration when deciding to adopt this gal. Micah is not a barker and has a smooth, short coat. She weighs 10-12 pounds.

Lazarus

Lazarus
Lazarus was literally taken from the table at an out-of-state shelter. Now, he is looking for that promise of a good life! Lazarus is 1 year old and good with other dogs. He does not like the sound of thunder and is still under behavioral assessment.

Courtesy Posting - Gizmo
As a courtesy posting, Gizmo is not on-site at Annie's Orphans and is described as represented to us. Please, contact the number at the end of this bio for more information. Gizmo is a 20 month old pit-bull/beagle mix. He has been neutered, is up-to-date on his shots, and has a microchip. The owners have recently needed to downsize and can no longer offer him the attention and full life he deserves. He’s done well in a crate, but doesn’t stay in one regularly. He is not fond of being alone outside. Gizmo has a very outgoing personality and is always looking for the next adventure. He is full of life and loves to run, hike, and play hard, in general, making him the perfect outdoor companion! He is great with kids and loves to cuddle. Please give Trista a call at 970-749-9594.

Pearl - 2

Pearl - 2
Pearl has returned to our shelter, due to unexpected household issues -- no fault of her own. Pearl was very bonded and is feeling insecure right now, but she is a sweet dog with people, submissive with other (same-size) dogs, and good with kids. Pearl is not considered good with small dogs or cats. She was well socialized and will benefit greatly from placement soon, as kennel life is not ideal for her. This girl is 1 and 1/2 yrs old.

Courtesy Posting - Chewy
As a Courtesy Posting, Chewy is not on-site at Annie's Orphans and is described as given: Chewbacca (aka Chewy) is good with other dogs, big and small. He's very interested in cats, but has never been allowed to interact, so it's unknown how he would do with them. He is smart and loves to play ball or any squeaky toy (He eats tennis balls). He knows some commands: sit, lay. It's possible that he has been abused by a man: he is scared of men wearing denim blue welding shirts; but has gotten used to men who are commonly around the house. He is phobic of loud noises, such as shooting guns and fireworks. He will need a secure, fenced yard. For more information, contact Irene at 361-676-6536.

Ditto

Ditto
Ditto is a black BC/Aussie mix, with one white foot. He came in as a puppy, with 2 other brothers. They were all locked into a dirty, small yard and abandoned when the previous owners moved. A good soul intervened, bringing them to Annie's and, while they came in a bit underweight, they were in general good health. Ditto is looking to bond with someone who can offer him the time and patience he needs for adjusting to a new setting. He will bond easily, but is shy and will need gradually-phased socialization. He is 1 year old. Ditto is currently being fostered and is responding very well.

Courtesy Posting -Lyla
As a courtesy posting, Lyla is not on-location at Annie's Orphans and is represented as given: Lyla is a 5 yo Golden Retriever/Husky Mix. She's the perfect hiking, camping, and adventure buddy. She's very friendly and is good with other dogs. She's been around cats, as well, and is friendly to them too. As long as she gets her exercise and lots of love and attention she is very well behaved. However, sometimes she will occasionally chew on an a cord or two. She is a little shy when you first meet her, but she warms up fast.

Tatum

Tatum
Tatum is still looking for her life-time person. She is a "tom-boy," not into holding and petting, but a good watch-dog and a fun-loving companion. Tatum is a little ginger-colored girl, who was picked up as a stray, scared and alone. She is at a stable weight and in good form, after her time of having to scrounge for food and hide from dangers. Due to unknown experiences, she came into our shelter skittish/nervous and has made some headway in that area. Still, she will need a patient and loving handler -- someone with whom she can develop trust, who can accept her for her good qualities and not require a lap-dog. She is best suited for a quiet living situation, a household with no children. "Tater" is a part of a "pack" of small dogs out here, loves her pals and playtime and would most likely do quite well with another small household dog. She is probably 7 years old, around 5 to 6 pounds and infinitely cute!!
