Our shelter is at capacity but our hearts are not. Because of this, we are not able to take in every pet in need. However, we can use our network and platform to help pets in the community needing to be rehomed or rescued. The pets below are generally located in the four corners area and are looking for a new, loving home.
PLEASE NOTE:
Because these dogs are not at Annie’s Orphans, we are describing them as they’ve been described to us. If you are interested in one of these animals, or have questions about them, please message the Individual contact provided for each pet.
LEXI
The vet says Lexi is an Aussie mix. People who've met her say she's all Aussie in personality. She is petite (30 pounds), 2-3 years old, spayed, fully housetrained and knows all of her commands. She has beautiful eyes! One blue, one half blue half brown.
She is very excitable and will jump up on you when you walk in the door, but will listen right away when you tell her to stop. She is such a loveable and affectionate dog. Lexi would be best as an only pet and needs an active owner! This dog needs to be engaged and exercised and challenged. She is highly intelligent and high energy. But at the end of the day she is happy to cuddle up and relax with you.
She is not a barker or a digger and has never tried to escape our 4 foot fence. She does not pull at all on a leash and I suspect she would be fine off leash because she just wants to be at your side.
That's all the good. Here's the bad:
She sheds a lot. She has some separation anxiety so she might tear up a magazine when you leave. Not the furniture but something paper is her preference. I'm sure that once she is settled in that will go away, especially if she is able to spend some of that energy she has.
Right now she is living with my 84 year old mother, who loves her to pieces but she really needs a less energetic breed.
Please Contact Sadie at 505.716.1415 to meet Lexi.
